How long have you been in the consumer receivables industry?

I’ve been in the financial services industry for over 20 years. Over that time, I’ve built a career focused on leadership, strategic partnerships, and driving exceptional results. My experience spans multiple organizations, including Crown Asset Management, Unifund, and Fidelity Investments, where I have gained a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities in our field.

What has been your involvement with RMAI?

I have been an active member of RMAI for several years, attending industry conferences, participating in educational events, and earning my CRCP certification.  As a part of my involvement, I have:

  • Advocated for our industry by serving on RMAI’s Membership and Education Committees, where I help engage and support members.
  • Advanced strategic goals by co-chairing the Silent Auction for the past two years. Through this work, I helped raise critical funds for RMAI’s legislative initiatives.
  • Promoted collaboration by beta testing a mentorship program within the Membership Committee. This program paired new members with active members to foster meaningful connections and engagement.

What made you decide to run for the board?

Over the past three years, I’ve had the privilege of working behind the scenes for RMAI through various committees. Now, as I approach a new chapter as a soon-to-be empty nester, I’m ready to take on a more active role and bring my voice and dedication to the table.

I decided to run for the board because I’m passionate about contributing to the continued growth and success of the consumer receivables industry. With evolving regulations and economic challenges, it’s more important than ever to have proactive leadership that prioritizes collaboration and innovation. Serving on the board is my opportunity to give back to the industry that has shaped my career while helping to ensure its long-term sustainability.

Since I’m already deeply engaged in RMAI’s mission, I felt the timing was right to take the next step.

What do you hope to accomplish as a board member?

As a board member, I aim to foster strong relationships between industry stakeholders, enhance educational opportunities for members, and advocate for policies that promote fairness, compliance, and ethical practices. My goal is to create an environment where members can thrive, adapt to change, and drive meaningful progress.

What unique benefits and perspectives will you bring?

I think we all thrive when tables are made up of diverse viewpoints. When that happens, we’re able to make stronger decisions together. I am passionate about creating an inclusive environment where all stakeholders feel represented and empowered to contribute. I will bring that perspective to the board along with my strategic mindset, results-oriented approach, and a deep understanding of industry trends and challenges. My certifications (CCCO and CRCP) and experience navigating complex regulatory landscapes will enable me to contribute valuable insights and practical solutions to board initiatives.

Why should people vote for you?

People should vote for me because I am committed to serving with integrity, transparency, and a dedication to advancing RMAI’s mission. My extensive experience, proven leadership, and passion for this industry make me a strong advocate for our members. I will work to ensure that the board reflects the needs of all members while driving progress and innovation.

How can people vote for you?

Voting is simple! Certified company members in good standing can vote. All you have to do is fill out this ballot and send it to Mike Becker by February 7th at 5pm PST.
