About:

As Managing Director and Head of Strategy, Esha leads a team of treasury and payments sales advisors while also directing the strategy of the Treasury and Payments team. Her talented team helps clients scale from startup to IPO by helping them responsibly monetize their payment flows. She joined SVB in 2022. 


Prior to SVB, she spent almost a decade at American Express in various functions across the commercial bank, including client management, business development, product marketing, and in a Chief of Staff role. She began her career at Dell / EMC and has also spent time in the tech startup space. In her free time, she enjoys exploring her artistic side as a student of Hindustani (Indian) classical vocal and dance (Kathak).

At American Express, Esha led a global team to grow partnerships and act as trusted advisors on their clients’ payments, financing, and procure-to-pay (P2P) process efficiency needs. Her multibillion-dollar portfolio represents companies of all industries, the most respected brands in the world, and American Express’ most valued global relationships.

A colleague since 2012, Esha has served in leadership capacities across product, account management, and sales with a focus on global clients. Her experience includes launching Early Pay, American Express’ supply chain finance and dynamic discounting platform, transforming the B2B product portfolio, driving multi-billion dollar go-to-market strategies, and serving as Chief of Staff to the Head of Global Business Development. 


Prior to American Express, Esha served as Director of Client Management at Applico, a mobile innovation consultancy helping clients to digitally transform and build platform businesses. She began her career at Dell/EMC in Global Pricing. 

Esha is an adjunct professor at Baruch College (CUNY) where she teaches courses on management, strategy, and client management. She has lived and worked in cities all over the globe, including London, Bangalore, Boston, and New York City. She holds her MBA from the Columbia Business School and a BSc in Management from Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts.
